The cancelled Common Admission Test for the prestigious Indian Institute of Managements will now be held on February 15, 2004, Indian Institute of Management -- Ahmedabad Director Bakul Dholakia said on Wednesday.
He was speaking to reporters in Ahmedabad after a day-long
meeting of the directors of all six IIMs. He said other modalities of the test, including printing of questions papers and security details, were still under discussion.
The CAT was cancelled for the first time in its 28-year history on November 23 after the CBI uncovered leakage of question papers and arrested six persons from Delhi and Pune, including the alleged kingpin Dr Ranjit Singh.
In a statement, the six directors expressed their regrets for the inconvenience caused to the students by the cancellation.
The IIMA director said the fresh dates for CAT were decided keeping in mind the dates for other important exams nationwide.
Asked if CBI would play any role in the test in February, Dholakia said: "The agency's advice will certainly be taken. But we are not planning to take any security support from them...only advice if need be."
