Bihar transporters, who have stopped sending trucks to Assam in view of the ethnic violence, on Wednesday threatened to stall movement of vehicles from other states to Assam and vice versa.
Irked over killing of four truck drivers at Nalbari, the Bihar Motor Transport Federation had at its executive body meeting on November 22 decided against sending trucks to Assam till the central and Assam governments give an assurance that they would not be targeted.

At an emergency meeting in Patna on Tuesday, it was decided that if transporters from other states did not heed its request, the BMTF would stall the movement of trucks to Assam through Bihar from next week onwards.
On an average, 4,000 to 5,000 trucks head for Assam from Bihar daily carrying food items, medicines and other goods.
