The Delhi police has arrested two persons in connection with the multi-crore stamp paper scam.

Sushant Kumar Dass and Lalit Patodi were arrested on charges of facilitating Telgi's dealings in fake stamp papers in Delhi by opening bank accounts under fictitious identities, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Economic Offences Wing) Dinesh Bhatt said.

The EOW had arrested seven persons, including a brother of Patodi, in October last year and recovered postal stamps and non-judicial stamp papers worth around Rs 220 crore.

Patodi told police that he had rented out one of his offices in Connaught Place to Telgi, Bhatt said.

Patodi met Telgi on several occasions between 1999 and 2001 at a hotel in Chanakyapuri.

Patodi, in connivance with his brother Sham, had opened two accounts at the Punjab National Bank. Transactions worth Rs 10 lakh were made through these accounts.

Dass, on the other hand, helped Telgi in acquiring office space in Gole Market and Karol Bagh, Bhatt said.
