The Central Bureau of Investigation has started probing the killing of the former home minister of Gujarat and Bharatiya Janata Party member, Haren Pandya.
A CBI team, soon after its arrival in Ahmedabad on Thursday night, went to Law Garden and examined the site where Pandya was shot dead when he was about to drive back home after his morning walk, police sources said in Ahmedabad.
They also inspected Pandya's car at the spot, they said on Friday.
The city crime branch is assisting the CBI, Director General of Police K Chakravarthy said.
"Special IG [CBI] Shrivastav met me today for details of the case and he also met city police Commissioner K R Kaushik," Chakravarthi added.
The CBI team includes one special Inspector General, one Deputy IG, one Superintendent of Police, six Deputy SPs and intelligence officials, the sources added.
Chakravarthy denied that any arrest has been made in connection with the killing.
The Gujarat police has prepared a sketch of possible killers on the basis of the statements of those who were near the site when the incident took place, the sources added.
