A Central Reserve Police Force jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a carbine in the CRPF campus at Hingana near Nagpur in the wee hours of Sunday, police said.
Vijay Damodar Dhule (30), a CRPF driver who was a native of Maharashtra's Parbhani district, triggered a bullet from the carbine of a sentry in the guard room, police said.
Dhule was rushed to the CRPF hospital in the campus but declared dead before admission, they said.
The reason for his extreme step could not be known immediately, police added.
