The indefinite stir by the Tamil Nadu government employees seeking restoration of curtailed service benefits entered its fourth day on Saturday.
Over 2,000 employees, mostly union leaders, have already been dismissed from service by the state government by invoking the Essential Services Maitenance Act against them, according official sources. Around 2000 employees have so far been arrested.
The striking employees have planned demonstrations all over the state on Monday.
Hearing a petition filed by the striking employees, the Madras high court said if they had grievances they should settle it before a legal forum and not resort to an agitation.
