Thirty-five people, including four CRPF personnel, were on Sunday injured in a powerful grenade explosion triggered by militants at a crowded bus stand in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said in Srinagar.

Militants lobbed a grenade towards a security patrol at the crowded Kulgam bus stand, 70km from Srinagar, around 1415 IST, the sources said.

Some women were among those injured in the resulting explosion.

The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital and some of them have been referred to the Anantnag district hospital, the sources said.

None of the injured were critical, they said. Security forces immediately cordoned off the bus stand but the militants fled taking advantage of the panic following the explosion.
