Curfew imposed in three towns of Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh following violent incidents during Wednesday's bandh by Sangh Parivar outfits would continue on Thursday, a senior official has said.

The situation was still tense but under control, District Collector Sanjay Dubey told reporters in Dhar.

A company of the Rapid Action Force was deployed in the city to maintain law and order, he added.

Meanwhile, one policeman was injured in Digthan area in the district, raising the number of injured in large-scale arson and stone-pelting to 26, including 16 police personnel.

The Hindu fundamentalist outfits were protesting against police 'atrocity' at the Bhojshala on Tuesday when activists of the Hindu Jagran Manch (HJM) tried to storm the disputed complex.

On Wednesday, a religious place belonging to the minority community was damaged in Bagdi village by some unidentified persons. The place was subsequently repaired by the district administration, Dubey said.

He also dismissed reports of five families belonging to the minority community missing from Bagdi village saying investigations had revealed that they were safe at their relative's place.
