The crisis in the Bahujan Samaj Party-Bharatiya Janata Party coalition in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday appeared to have blown over with the BJP deciding to set up a three-member panel to interact with Chief Minister Mayawati and Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee asking the state leaders of the two parties not to rush to the Centre with their problems.

Both sides should respect each other's views and sort out differences amicably, Vajpayee was understood to have said at a two-hour meeting he had with Mayawati and BJP leaders from the state.

During the meeting, which was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani, Human Resources Development Minister Murli Manohar Joshi and BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu, it was decided to have a three-member team -- comprising state BJP president Vinay Katiyar, Rajya Sabha member Kalraj Mishra and PWD Minister Lalji Tandon -- interact every fortnight with Mayawati.

"I am willing to take your people along but they should not go to the media. I am more than happy for regular interaction and regular consultation," Mayawati told the BJP leaders.

Earlier the UP chief minister and the BJP leaders held a meeting at Advani's residence.
