India-Pak to resume flights from Thu

After a gap of two years, Pakistan and India will formally open their skies to each other's flights from Thursday.

Pakistan International Airlines officials said the first PIA flight from Lahore will leave for New Delhi in the afternoon on Thursday and return the same day.

PIA's Karachi -Mumbai flights will start from January 2.

The Indian Airlines will start its flights to Lahore and Karachi after January 9. But IA would operate two chartered
flights from New Delhi to Islamabad on January 2 to carry Indian media personnel to cover the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation conference.

An Indian flight carrying relief goods to earth quake victims in Iran overflew Pakistan on Tuesday.
