A special MCOCA court in Pune on Monday allowed the Special Investigation Team probing the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam to put the main accused through an array of scientific tests.
Nine accused in the case, including the main accused Abdul Karim Telgi, will undergo three tests -- P300 Test or
Brain Finger Printing, Narco Analysis Test and Lie Detector Test.
The tests are likely to be conducted at the Forensic Laboratory in Bangalore. The prosecution told the court the tests were necessary for interpretation and not evidence.
The tests will be conducted under magisterial custody.
The Brain Finger Printing Test involves studying the brain wave responses to stimuli with EEG sensors, while the Narco Analysis Test involves administering 'Truth Serum' to the accused.
Earlier, the court had rejected the SIT's application to conduct Voice Sample Tests on the accused.
