Pakistan Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali said in Lahore on Sunday that his government would soon finalise the response to the fresh offer of friendship from his Indian counterpart, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

His Foreign Minister, Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri, who was also in Lahore, said, "India should not attach any condition to resume talks."

On the infiltration issue, he said Pakistan was ready to appoint observers, including those from the United Nations, to monitor the Line of Control.

"India should accept joint monitoring of the LoC by the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia and Iran to observe factual position of its allegations against Pakistan for sponsoring cross border terrorism."

He said Pakistan always welcomed the role of the UN and other neutral bodies or states to resolve the Kashmir issue.
