The SOS Children's Villages of India, a voluntary child care organisation, on Wednesday offered to support the families of victims of the Nadimarg massacre in which militants killed 24 Kashmiri Pandits on March 24.

SOS CVI President J N Koul said he has written a letter to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed extending all possible help and support to the affected families and orphaned children.

Koul said the organisation plans to establish a school and a children's village in the valley. During his recent visit to the SOS-run school and children's village at Jammu, Mufti had given an assurance regarding the allotment of land in the valley for the purpose, Koul said.

SOS-India provides homes to almost 15,000 children in 34 such villages located in various parts of the country, Koul said.

It also provides educational and medical facilities to children through 122 allied projects, such as kindergartens, schools, social, medical and vocational training centres.
