Mission Catch Veerappan

December 19, 2002 02:28 IST

Karnataka has prepared a list of sophisticated weapons and surveillance gadgets it requires to hunt down forest brigand Veerappan. The list would be soon submitted to the Union home ministry.

The list was finalised at a high-level meeting convened by Chief Minister S M Krishna. Karnataka Special Task Force chief Jyoti Prakash Mirjee and DGP T Madiyal were present at the meeting.

Home Minister Mallikarjun Kharge, also present at the meeting, however, refused to divulge the contents of the list to the Press.

He said Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani had assured Karnataka all help in nabbing the outlaw following the gory end to the Janata Dal-United leader H Nagappa's abduction.
