Nothing speaks to every single of us like music.

It's magical, universal appeal lends wings to our imagination and is balm for the anxious soul.

Looks like the good folks at the ministry of civil aviation agree too and have requested our airports and airlines to play Indian music at airports and during flights as part of its culture promotion initiative.

Sukanya Verma suggests 10 super pleasing Indian melodies for their playlist.

Safar, Jab Harry Met Sejal
Music: Pritam

Safar pays rich ode to the frequent flier with its profound understanding of a traveller's many moods and endless destinations.

Pudhu Vellai Mazhai, Roja
Music: A R Rahman

The sheer enchantment and transporting quality of Rahman's breakout tune is just what a flier needs.

Kaisi Hai Yeh Ruth, Dil Chahta Hai
Music: Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy

A disarming serenity envelops this lilting S-E-L song and paints the listener's mind with calm and colours.

Butta Bomma, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo
Music: Thaman S

Butta Bomma's peppy, perky style says have a pleasant flight in ways only an Allu Arjun entertainer can.

Safarnama, Tamasha
Music: A R Rahman

Journey to self discovery while out and about is every traveler's goal and most poetically documented in the intimate, soaring tunes of Safarnama.

Aaj Main Oopar, Khamoshi
Music: Jatin-Lalit

That top of the world feeling when you're literally thousands of feet above is joyfully captured in Aaj Main Oopar.

Ikk Kudi, Udta Punjab
Music: Amit Trivedi

Amit Tridevi's sublime treatment of poet Shiv Kumar Batalvi's soulful lines has an elevating, enjoyable effect.

Sairat Zaala Ji, Sairat
Music: Ajay-Atul

Masters of grandeur and romance, composer duo Ajay-Atul give the listener much to exhale about in the overwhelming ardour of this mellifluous Sairat gem.

Badalon Se, Satya
Music: Vishal Bhardwaj

Ever so fun letting the imagination run riot when soaring amidst fluffy clouds. Perhaps Gulzar's whimsy lyrics for Badalon Se were penned during one such memorable flight.

Malare, Premam
Music: Rajesh Murugesan

A wonderful melody from a wonderful movie, there's an instantly hooking and feel-good air to Malare. God knows the world could do with some cheer.
