After choreographing more than 2,000 songs over 40 years in the movies and winning three National Awards and countless other awards, Saroj Khan passed away on the morning of July 3, after suffering a cardiac arrest.

As the nation and film fraternity mourns the loss of a legend, Namrata Thakker takes a look at Saroj Khan’s beautiful life through her Instagram feed.

It seemed only fitting that the last dance Saroj Khan choreographed would feature Madhuri Dixit, with whom she tasted her first major success.

From Tezaab's Ek Do Teen to Kalank's Tabah Ho Gaye, the Master and pupil's bond stood the test of time.

Sarojji wished Madhuri on her birthday in May by posting a throwback picture and writing, 'Happy birthday M D, my inspiration. You are my love for dancing.'

'God give you a long long long life, his blessing should always be on you, God give you good health and keep you wealthy.

'God bless your children and Dr Nene. Lots of love, Master Ji.'

Remo D'Souza, Sarojji and Madhuri Dixit collaborated on Tabah Ho Gaye in Kalank.

"There was Sarojji on one side and Madhuriji on the other. I was just a student happy to learn from these two legends," says Remo.

Ranbir Kapoor got to work with Sarojji in his first film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya.

"Sanjay Dutt does know dancing," she told us once. "I made him dance to Tamma Tamma in Thanedar."

She won a National Award for choreographing Yeh Ishq Haaye from Jab We Met.
