Whether its maa ka pyaar or sibling love, Bollywood has always been high on emotions.

We are celebrating Father's Day, and Namrata Thakker decided to take some helpful tips from our very own filmi daddies.

Mentor your kids

Dangal may have given us the hit song Baapu Sehat Ke Liye Tu Toh Hanikarak Hai, but it also showed us how a father can be a mentor and make a world of difference to a child's life.

Aamir Khan convincingly played a strict yet caring father who goes all out to help his daughters go for gold.

Have open and honest conversations

As Bhaskor Banerjee, Amitabh Bachchan played a doting father in Piku, never mind his fixation with constipation.

He had no qualms about speaking about bowel movements as well as more important topics like sex with his daughter.

Be their best friend in good times and bad

It's good to celebrate your child's success, but it's equally important to celebrate their failures.

Just like Dharamvir Malhotra did for his son Raj in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge when he failed in university.

Be patient

Farooque Sheikh dished out a few important lessons while playing Ranbir Kapoor's dad in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.

Though he was always worried about his son, he never stopped him from chasing his dreams.

He patiently waited for him to return back home from his trips and love him unconditionally.

Be their lifeboat

Kids go through their usual set of problems, but they will seem lighter when they know they have a lifeboat in their father, who will always rescue them.

Go the extra mile

In Chachi 420, Kamal Haasan goes out of his way just to be around his little daughter.

From dressing up as a maid to mopping floors and doing household chores, he does it all that with a lot of wit and fun.

Express yourself

When Rahul's little daughter Anjali went camping, he missed her so much, he went on television to express his love for her!

Now, it doesn't have to be so extreme but it's always a good idea to express your love to your child.

Say YES to their Europe trip!

The one thing that Chaudhary Baldev Singh did best in DDLJ was allow his daughter to go on a Euro trip.

And that's not always an easy decision to make.
