There were so many big releases planned for 2020 until coronavirus changed all that.

With the lockdown in force and no clarity on when theatres will eventually open, quite a few movies will spill over to 2021.

Joginder Tuteja looks at the new release schedule for the male actors for the next year.

Akshay Kumar
Movies in hand: Sooryavanshi, Laxmmi Bomb, Prithviraj

Every year, Akshay has an average of three movie releases.

This year, the actor almost had four releases, but then Bachchan Pandey got pushed ahead.

While Sooryavanshi is ready, Laxmmi Bomb could arrive on an OTT platform.

The Prithviraj shoot is still on. At least one of these films will move to 2021.

Ajay Devgn
Movies in hand: Bhuj: The Pride of India, Maidaan

Ajay has already delivered an all-time blockbuster earlier this year: Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.

He also has a special appearance in Sooryavanshi.

Bhuj: The Pride of India and Maidaan are slated to arrive in the second half of the year.

It is unlikely that both will release on time. Maidaan will probably be pushed to next year.

John Abraham
Movies in hand: Mumbai Saga, Attack, Satyameva Jayate 2

If not for the lockdown, John would have enjoyed three releases in a space of just 100 days -- Mumbai Saga, Attack, Satyameva Jayate 2.

The shooting of Satyameva Jayate 2 is yet to start. The Attack shoot is on. Mumbai Saga is in post production.

John will see a spillover of at least one film in 2021.

Ranbir Kapoor
Movies in hand: Shamshera, Brahmastra

Ranbir didn't have a release in 2019, but 2020 was meant to be special for the actor, with two magnum opus releases -- Shamshera and Brahmastra.

One wonders about Shamshera, but Brahmastra may be pushed to 2021 since it is a VFX-heavy film and needs dedicated effort once the lockdown ends.

Amitabh Bachchan
Movies in hand: Gulabo Sitabo, Chehre, Brahmastra, Jhund

Amitabh Bachchan had as many as four films lined up for 2020.

Ironically, all -- except Chehre -- were supposed to be 2019 releases.

Jhund (which had a short teaser release) and Gulabo Sitabo may release this year while the rest may get pushed ahead.

Aamir Khan
Movies in hand: Laal Singh Chaddha

Aamir had just one release planned for 2020, but unfortunately, that will get pushed to 2021.

Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir's take on Forrest Gump, was to be a big Christmas release.

Let's see when Aamir brings it to the marquee.

Sanjay Dutt
Movies in hand: Sadak 2, Shamshera, Bhuj: The Pride of India, K.G.F: Chapter 2, Prithviraj, Torbaaz

Playing key roles in as many as six films this year, Sanjay Dutt will have a spillover of at least three or four films in 2021.

Sadak 2 has been in the making for a long time and may finally release this year.

Bhuj: The Pride of India may also release this year.

But one can't be sure of the final release plans for Shamshera, K.G.F: Chapter 2, Prithviraj and Torbaaz.
