Amruthavaani: A neat love story

B R Rajashekhar's directorial debut, Amruthavaani is a triangular love story with good narration but disappointing music by veteran music director Manoranjan Prabhakar, who changed his name to M P Naidu in this film.

Amruthavaani tells the story of two friends who fall for the same girl. Though there is nothing new about the story, this Kannada film is appealing mainly because of the high voltage performances from the young actors Naveen Krishna and Ajay of Excuse Me fame. Heroine Radhika looks glamorous and acts well too.

However, the comedy sequences do not gel well with the story.

Sundaranatha Suvarna's camera work is first rate. Rajashekhar's directorial abilities comes into the fore in many sequences despite his inexperience. And the twists and turns in the story make the proceedings interesting.

Not bad for a first-timer.
