One knows what to expect from producer-director-presenter Maruthi’s brand of films by now. They target the youth and are filled with lewd lines and double entendres though technically they may be slick.
The latest product from the Maruthi stable (he presents it), is Romance starring Prince, Manasa and Dimple Chopade, directed by ‘Darling’ Swami. It’s a tedious film, much like his others.
The film has been so dumbed down, it is unpalatable. The story of a boy Krishna (Prince) in search of a perfect girl leads him to Lalitha (Manasa) and Anuradha (Dimple).
The film has obscene scenes and dialogues that make one squirm in one’s seat. The film is vulgar and disgusting in parts.
The actors do their best. Prince, Manasa (though she has a short role) and Dimple are the saving grace of the film, though they would be better off choosing other films.
Technically the film is decent, with fine cinematography by J Prabhakar Reddy. It is better to give Romance a miss.
