Shruti Indira Lakshminarayana reviews Dhool.Post YOUR reviews here! Actor Yogish was looking for a big break and it has arrived with this week's release Dhool.
Directed by Dharani, Dhool has Yogi playing the character of a carefree youth, Guru. He has no mission in life but that's until he casts his eyes on the rich and beautiful Priya (Aindrita Ray). Guru, in no time, convinces Priya of his true love, but all is not won as he has the herculean task of convincing her brother Nanda (Prakash Raj). Nanda is in no mood to marry off his beloved sister to a vagabond. He offers to 'buy' Guru's love saying he is no match to his sister. But Guru tries to assure him that Priya and he are made for each other. Will his persistance pay off? Will it ensure his family, a rosy future?
Dhool gets entertaining as soon as Prakash Raj enters the scene. He adds both character and style to the film.
Yogi gives a very studied and restained performance.
It is his comic timing that works in his favour. He gets his dialogue delivery right at almost all places and holds his own against a veteran actor like Raj.
Aindrita Ray adds spunk to the film with her looks and subtle acting.
What also works in favour of Dhool is the dialogues by Ramnarayan. The comic repartee just makes it even more of a delight. The film's strength also lies in the fact that it has few characters with nicely etched out parts.
Music by Harikirshna is peppy. Amma loosa appa loosa and style will be liked by the masses, while Shuruaythu is a breezy romantic number. The modern version of the famous Rajkumar number Nanna ninu gelalare tilidu tilidu chalavetake also is also good.
Action sequences also jostle for space in the film and action director Ravi Verma includes parkour to thrill Yogi fans.
Dhool has nothing new to offer in terms of story. In fact it is inspired by Tamil super hit film Thiruvilleyadal Aarambam. The film makes an enjoyable one time watch because of its comedy and its punches. Yogi won't disappoint his fans.
