The RRR trailer is an absolute visual delight and promises a grand cinematic experience.
But isn't that a given, considering it's an S S Rajamouli film?

After a long wait, the trailer of S S Rajamouli's much-talked about magnum opus, RRR, is out and it lives up to the expectation and the hype.

After giving us the blockbuster Baahubali franchise, Rajamouli is back with yet another visual extravaganza in RRR.

Starring N T Rama Rao Jr, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt, the movie is set in the 1920s and revolves around two revolutionaries who fight the British Raj and the Nizam of Hyderabad respectively.

Alluri Sitaram Raju (Ram Charan) is a police officer who initially works for the British Raj but later joins hands with his close friend, Komaram Bheem (NTR Jr), a tribal leader, to fight for the independence and liberation of Hyderabad.

The three-minute long trailer first introduces us to NTR Jr's character, who makes a smashing entry running in a forest and fighting a tiger.

The scene sets the tone for the rest of the trailer, which is jam-packed with high-octane action sequences.

Ram Charan gets to make an equally whistleworthy entrance; what's impressive is that both actors look fabulously fit, making all the action scenes believable.

It's more than apparent that NTR Jr and Ram Charan have given it their all to get their characters right.

Since they are headlining the cast, they also get the most amount of screen time.

Alia Bhatt barely makes an appearance despite being RRR's leading lady. She does not have a single dialogue in the trailer.

Since this is her big South debut, let's hope there is a lot more of this talented actress in the movie.

Ajay Devgn also stars in the film. His appearance, too, is quick, but he mouths a weighty dialogue that gets him noticed.

While Alia and Ajay don't make a splash in the trailer, Ram Charan and NTR Jr more than make up for it with their magnetic presence and amazing action scenes.

Also, their chemistry and camaraderie in the trailer is heartwarming.

Overall, the RRR trailer is an absolute visual delight and promises a grand cinematic experience. But isn't that a given, considering it's an S S Rajamouli film?

Though the trailer, at three minutes, is long, the makers have managed to keep some mystery around the story intact, especially with Alia's character Sita.

Some of the stunts do defy logic and gravity, but that's better than having a story with no logic at all.

Written and directed by S S Rajamouli and produced by D V V Danayya, RRR will release in theatres on January 7, 2021.
