Preethse Preethse comes after Yogish delivered three big hits.Director Maadesh's last film also was a huge hit. As Yogi's last film Ambari just completed hundred days, Preethse Preethse was certainly the most expected film in Kannada.
As a young man from a rich family who does not reveal his inner feelings and suffers internally, Yogish has tried to be different in. However Yogish has not been able to deliver a convincing performance this time as he has been handicapped by a below ordinary script.
Coming to the story, Preethse Preethse revolves around Akash, a rich man who is in love with Aishwarya but is unable to express his love. He lives in an illusionary world and fantasises incidents that relates to his love with Aishwarya. Bipasha who is closer to his family likes Akash, but sooner learns that Akash is in love with Aishwarya. Akash tries to please Aishwarya in many ways and even saves her father from an accident. He gets mentally disturbed when he comes to know about Aishwarya's engagement. Now, Aiwharya starts wooing Akash, but he does not respond. Finally all decks are cleared when Akash understands that Aishwarya's engagement is cancelled. Aishwarya also expresses her deep feelings of love to Akash. (sic)
Director Maadesh who has directed a blockbuster like Gaja should have gone for a convincing story. The characterisation of the hero and the heroine is so weak that everything becomes predictable half way through the film.
The separate comedy track involving Rangayana Raghu, MS Umesh and Mohan Juneja looks outdated and silly. Yogish has struggled to deliver a decent performance, but he is too young and inexperienced to take up such a complex role. Malayalam actress Udaya Tara has not been used properly. Pragna who acts as Bipasha has only been used to expose in songs.
Veterans Jai Jagadish, Ramesh Bhat and Sangeetha fit the bill. Director PN Sathya plays the villain which brings in more laughs than fear in the theatre.
Anoop Sileen's music is good. Songs like Preethse Preethse, Loose Maada, and Urige Baare are well picturised while the Bangkok song has only sex and glitz.
Preethse Preethse can be enjoyed only by Yogish's fans. Otherwise it is just an ordinary film.
