Naa Styley Veru is lacklustre

Going by the title one may think it's a hip film about a guy or a girl having a different sense of style. But this particular Telugu film starring Dr Rajasekhar and Bhumika is rather painful to watch.

It's a remake of the Malayalam film Hallo which starred superstar Mohanlal along with Parvathi Melton. Also one feels that the title is a misnomer to some extent when compared to the story. Actually the less said the better about this one.

Parvati's (Bhumika) father is getting operated abroad. Since she is the only daughter of the rich man, the family members are plotting to kill her off. She is kidnapped and from the hideout she somehow manages to make a call. The call goes through to Sivaram (Dr Rajasekhar) as he is bashing up a few fellows. She asks him to rescue her and he does. Then the story unfolds of Sivaram's past.

By the time the film ends one is on the verge of losing one's patience with the rather ludicrously written plot. It's dull and dreary. In fact watching this film is an exercise in tedium. Story wise the film is mostly uninteresting. It does not even evoke laugh. Acting is pretty bland and the music uninspiring. There's nothing much to write about the technical aspects too.

Director Ram Prasadd crafts a lacklustre film which is absolutely boring.

Dr Rajasekhar has invariably the stock expressions but looks too prim and proper to play the alcoholic. Bhumika looks sweet and charming and perhaps is the only life of the movie. There are a whole lot of other characters -- Ali (who plays Sivaram's friend), Venumadhav (who plays the cop), Brahmanandam (who plays Appachan) and several others but there's nothing to write home about. It's all because of the script, which is prosaic and pedestrian.

One could happily give Naa Styley Veru a miss unless you are a fan of Dr Rajasekhar. Those who chose to see it will be treated to simply mediocre and unappealing fare.
