A R Rahman, one of Bollywood's most astoundingly consistent music composers, outdoes himself with each new project.

After giving recent musical hits with Raanjhanaa, Rockstar and the surreal score in director Mani Ratnam's Tamil film Kadal, the maestro shines yet again with the music of Imtiaz Ali's upcoming film Highway.

So wide ranging is his repertoire of film music -- he has composed in languages ranging from Hindi to Tamil and Telugu -- that it becomes exceedingly difficult for even the most ardent of his fans to pick a favourite.
