The wistful tone of Yeh daulat bhi le lo, the knowing insistence of Tum itna jo muskura rahe ho or the melifluous quality of Hoshwalon ko khabar kya -- each of his renditions are close to our hearts and have touched our lives in one way or the other.

Today, when Jagjit Singh is not with us anymore, we seek solace in the fact that his voice will stay with us forever.
