Kate Winslet to visit India
March 03, 2004

Actress Kate Winslet (Titanic, Iris) is planning a trip to India to rejuvenate her body and soul with yoga lessons, a report said Wednesday.

She will travel with husband Sam Mendes, director of American Beauty, and her two children, Mia and Joe.

"I'm desperate to come to India and practise yoga again," Winslet told her yoga teacher Daya Vyas, from New York, according to the report. "I want to be in touch with my soul and body. Yoga reduced my labour pains during my second childbirth considerably. The stress of work and bringing up Mia and Joe has got to me. I want a break and India seems a perfect haven," she said.

Yoga teacher Vyas said the physical and meditation exercises had helped the Titanic star "go through her difficult divorce with Jim Threapleton."

"It made her strong emotionally and physically and believe in love," said Vyas, who lives in western Jaipur, in Rajasthan.
