With Prabhas all set to play Lord Ram in Om Raut's Adipurush, the stage is set for Ravan.
Saif Ali Khan, who showed us how wicked he could be in the Om Raut-directed, Ajay Devgn blockbuster, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, has been cast as Ravan.
'I'm thrilled to be working with Omi dada again!' Saif exclaimed. 'He has a grand vision and the technical knowledge to really pull it off. He has taken me beyond the cutting edge of our cinema in the way he shot Tanhaji and this time he is taking us all further!'
'I look forward to clashing swords with the mighty Prabhas and to play a role that is electrifying and demonic!' Saif, who first played a bad guy in Sriram Raghavan's 2004 film Ek Hasina Thi, added.
Adipurush will be made in Hindi and Telugu and will be dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and several foreign languages.
It is expected to go on the floors in 2021 and hit theatres in 2022.
We wonder why Saif has not tried more negative characters in his career, especially since one of his most critically acclaimed roles -- Omkara's Langda Tyagi -- was a jealous antagonist in the film.
Will Saif be a convincing Ravan? VOTE!
