Kangana Ranaut points a finger at Hrithik Roshan again.
Firing a fresh salvo at Hrithik Roshan, Kangana Ranaut, recently said she doesn’t understand why the actor always needs his father to come for his rescue.
"I want to know why men can't stand up for themselves. He (Hrithik Roshan) is a 43-year old son, why his father has to come for his rescue always? For how long will they keep hiding behind their influential big names fathers? He is an adult, he can pretty much handle his own controversies in showbiz.
"It's just a simple controversy. Why daddies have to always save their sons, I don't understand," said the 29-year-old actor at the launch of Chetan Bhagat’s latest novel, One Indian Girl.
The Queen actress said it in response to Hrithik's father and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan's earlier comment, where he had said that his son chose to remain calm and dignified when someone was spreading lies about him (referring to Kangana).
Talking about how success has gone against her, the National award-winning actress said, "You want to be worthy of your partner. When a man acquires a certain social stature and goes up to the same woman (he acquired the status for), he is accepted well.
"But it works the other way round for women. I have felt in my relationship that my success has always gone against me," she said.
Further putting forward her analogy, which she said to be "a bit weird,” the 29-year-old star explained, "When I was not successful, men were like a hard-to-please father figure. When I became successful, they became an evil jealous sibling. I felt they will put my closet on fire as they were jealous of my fashion sense also. Everything was about competing with me."
Kangana added during the conversation that the lack of acknowledgement by a more successful partner motivated her to do well in life.
"It is a very sensitive topic which every woman will relate to. When I was not successful and dated men more successful, I felt I was devalued. I felt, as a woman, as a partner I was not acknowledged and men behaved, border line, indifferent. That motivated me to do well, just how it works for men,” she said.
Kangana was all praise for Chetan Bhagat at the launch of his new book and said that she could relate her experiences with some parts of it.
"After I read it, I was in tears. A few things made me very emotional because they sounded like a leaf out of my own experiences," she said.
"It is a very special book. It has a very humane take on a working women’s life, who are struggling with their professional and personal lives. It is a lot more endearing and a lot more meaningful because it is coming from a man. This makes the book even more special. I have become a Chetan Bhagat fan all over again after this book," she added.
On the professional front, Kangana will next be seen in Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon along with Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. She will soon start shooting for Hansal Mehta's Simran as well.
