Will Akki, who remade Vijay's Thuppakki in Hindi as Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, thwart SRK?

The latest buzz doing the rounds is that both Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar are showing a keen interest in the Vijay-starrer Theri, directed by Atlee, a protege of filmmaker Shankar.

Theri recently celebrated its 75-day run at the box office.

Initially, it was reported that Rohit Shetty would get back together with SRK for the Hindi remake of Theri, marking it their third movie together after Chennai Express and Dilwale.

The latest is that Akki, who remade Vijay's Thuppakki in Hindi as Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, is also in the fray for a remake.

Akshay has been roped in for director AR Murugadoss' Ikka, which is the remake of Kaththi, another Vijay starrer, which is expected to go on the floors this August.

So who will win this tug of war between Shah Rukh and Akshay to reprise Vijay's role in Theri? We'll just have to wait and see!

Dhanush's Vada Chennai goes on floors

After the spectacular success of Polladhavan and the National Award-winning film Aadukalam, director Vetrimaaran and Dhanush are back together for their third film.

Vada Chennai has been in the news for quite a while, but with Dhanush busy with his other commitments, the project was delayed.

Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Dhunush's Wunderbar Films, Vada Chennai was launched on Wednesday, June 22, with a formal pooja.

The ambitious film will be shot in three parts, portraying 30 years in the life of a gangster, played by Dhanush.
