Venkatesh to play Mohanlal's role in the Telugu remake of Drishyam

In the Telugu remake of the hit Malayalam film Drishyam, Venkatesh will play the role played by Mohanlal in the original.

The Telugu remake will be jointly produced by Suresh Productions, Rajkumar Theatres Pvt Ltd and Wide Angle Creations.

Sripriya, who had directed Malini 22 (the Tamil-Telugu remake of 22 Female Kottayam), is helming this film.

Meena, who was in the original, is paired opposite Venkatesh. Nadia is the police officer, a role played superbly by Asha Sarath in the original.

Readers may recall that we had reported that Kamal Haasan will play the lead role in the Tamil remake of Drishyam, which will be directed by Jeethu Joseph, who directed the original Malayalam film.
