Teaser Watch: Kalank looks stunning!

The much-awaited teaser for Karan Johar's Kalank is out and as expected, it looks grand, glitzy and has KJo written all over it.

Directed by Abhishek Varman and starring Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt, Kalank is set in the 1940s.

The producers have paid a lot of attention to detail in order to bring that era alive.

The opening shot shows Madhuri dancing, and looks absolutely breathtaking. It reminds us of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas.

In fact, it appears Karan sought inspiration from Bhansali to create this larger-than-life movie.

Every character is shown in the teaser, but it is Varun and Alia's chemistry that gets our attention.

Alia looks regal and beautiful while Varun's big fight scene with the bull looks captivating.

The teaser seems to say that Zafar (Varun) and Roop (Alia) love each other, but the latter ends up marrying Dev (Aditya).

A hardcore love story, then, with a gamut of emotions on display.

Let's see how the other characters come into play.

Apart from the stunning cinematography, the background score makes an impact.

It is hauntingly beautiful and goes well with the look and feel of the film.

Overall, Kalank looks like another magnum opus from KJo's banner. Since this is the last script his late father Yash Johar worked on, it is evident that the film is very close to Karan's heart, and he has poured all his love into it.

Kalank releases on April 17.
