Telugu star NTR Jr has established a new record for himself.
Costarring Bhoomika and Ankitha, Simhadri opened to record collections and sustained purely thanks to NTR Jr's 'angry young man' image.
"I approved the script instantly," reveals the actor about Simhadri. He then requested producer V Vijaya Kumar Varma to scrap their earlier project after shooting 40 per cent of the film.
The film lured in the family audience thanks to Keeravani's chartbusting compositions. It remains to be seen whether it will collect Rs 35 crore (Rs 350 million) and beat Indra to become the highest grosser.
If that happens, "Simhadri will 'set a new record even in South India," says a proud Varma.
Uday delivers a dud
The highly hyped Neeku Nenu Naaku Nuvvu failed to impress.

Except for a couple of dances, Uday had no scope to perform, adding to the disappointment of his fans.
"He chose the wrong script," observes a film critic and claims the poor response has nothing to do with the cancellation of his engagement with Chiranjeevi's daughter.
The actor, who holds the unique record of beginning his career with a hat-trick of hits -- Chitram, Nuvvu Nenu and Manasantha Nuvve -- had to later contend with duds like Sriram and Holi.
After proving himself as a romantic hero and capable dancer, Uday needs a big hit to regain his confidence.
