Madhumasam is about two people with contrasting views on love.
Chandra Siddhartha (of Aa Naluguru and Inscrutable Americans fame) has penned the screenplay, and directed the film as well.
Sanjay (Sumanth) plays a practical man who does not believe in love. But Hamsa Vahini (Sneha) is the opposite -- she's a traditional girl who believes in love.
The two end up meeting quite often, and Hamsa gradually falls in love with him. Sanjay, who is tired of his parents' constant need for him to marry a girl of their choice, decides to marry Hamsa. Hamsa learns of this later, feels cheated and breaks their engagement. Of course,
"People, particularly males, will identify with my character," Sanjay says. "He is a practical guy when it comes to relationships."
Parvati Melton plays Maya, another important character in the film. The film also stars M S Narayana, L B Sriram and Dharamavarapu Subramanyam.
Mani Sarma's music has melody.
Sumanth, Sneha and Siddhartha must be looking forward to this film. Sumanth's last film Chinnodu did not fare as well as the previous, Godavari. Sneha had a huge hit in Sri Ramadasu (where she played Ramadasu's wife) but the subsequent film Manasu Palike Mouna Raagam bombed.
Madhumasam will release in February.
