Lokpal has been scripted by S N Swami, who is known for scripting several successful thrillers and the CBI Diary Kurippu series. He is working with Mohanlal and Joshiy after 22 years. The trio’s last film together was Naduvazhikal.
Mohanlal plays Nandagopal, the owner of a food court named Nandu’s. Kavya Madhavan plays Dr Geetha.
The makers of the film clarify that the title of the film has no connection with the Lokpal issue being widely discussed in Indian politics, or the Anna Hazare movement. Here the hero is fighting against corruption in his own way.
Lokpal has a big star cast that includes Manoj K Jayan, Sai Kumar, Thalaivasal Vijay, T G Ravi, Meera Nandan and Shafna.
The cinematographer is Pradeep Nair. Lyrics by Rafique Ahmed have been set to music composed by Ratheesh Vegha.
The film, produced under the banner of Happy & Ruby Cinemas, is being distributed by Aashirvad Release through Maaxlab.
