Director Johnny Antony who has just completed shooting the Prithviraj-Sasikumar starrer Masters, has launched his new film titled Thaappana.

The shooting of the film, produced under the banner of Galaxy Films by Milan Jaleel, has started in Kochi.

The pooja ceremony was held at Kochi's Gokulam Convention Centre and was attended by several top names from the industry including Dileep, Kamal, Joshiy, Siby Malayil, Sasikumar and Samuthirakani.

Charmee, who was last seen in the Malayalam film Aagathan, plays the heroine in Thaappana.

Sindhuraj has scripted the film and the cinematographer is Raja Rathinam. The music director is Vidyasagar.

Mammootty and Johnny Antony had teamed up to make the blockbuster Thuruppugulan and the dud, Ee Pattanathil Bhootham.
