First Look: Five directors team up for 5 Sundarikal

Five young directors are teaming up in a “love anthology” titled 5 Sundarikal (5 Beauties) that will feature five stories of around 30 minutes duration each with some top actors in the cast.

Amal Neerad, Aashiq Abu, Anwar Rasheed, Sameer Thahir and Shyju Khaled are the directors. Four of them have already made their mark as directors. Shyju makes his debut as director after having wielded the camera for such films as Traffic, Salt N’ Pepper and 22 Female Kottayam.

The cast includes Fahadh Faasil, Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly, Kavya Madhavan, Jayasurya, Honey Rose, Reenu Mathews, Shine Tom Chacko, Vinayakan and Esha Sharwani.

According to the directors, “5 Sundarikal is not just an engaging five film anthology but a collective realisation of brotherhood and pure camaraderie between the directors and the core crew celebrating over two decades of friendship.

The film has been presented as a tribute to the centenary of Indian cinema.

5 Sundarikal will hit the screens on June 14.
