Sonu Sood is the King!
No, don't take it literally. That is just the name of the character the actor is playing in the upcoming Singh is Kinng! which also stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif.
Produced by Vipul Shah who delivered 2007's hit Namastey London, the film is directed by Anees Bazmee (of Welcome fame).
Sonu, who has acted in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil films, and also has a role in Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar, confirms, "I am the King in the film and Akshay plays the role of Singh in Singh is Kinng."
Set in Australia and Punjab, the film revolves around a friendship between Akshay's character who is based in Australia and Sonu's in Punjab.
As to whether the film resembles Dostana which had Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha, Sonu says, "I cannot say anything more than this. You will just have to wait and watch."
