Interestingly, the sequel to the Ashwin Dhir-directed 2012 comedy is a period film based on the 1897 battle Of Saragarhi fought in Tirah (now in Pakistan), in which 21 Sikh soldiers gave up their life battling against 10,000 Afghans.
The film is also touted to be one of the biggest war epics to be made in Bollywood in terms of scale and budget.
While Devgn essays the role of Havaldar Ishar Singh -- who led 21 brave Sikhs in the battle -- the film will cast 20 other prominent actors as part of Devgn’s battalion.
From comedy to period drama?
Let's just wait and watch how that works out.
