Sidharth Malhotra is one of the few Bollywood actors who hasn't been typecast, and experiments in different genres.

His new film Shershaah has been getting rave reviews and is definitely a pat on the actor's back.

Sidharth has given some noteworthy performances in the past. Joginder Tuteja looks back at his movies, and their success rate. Do vote for your favourite Sid performance at the end.

Ek Villain
Box office collection: Rs 106 crore

Sidharth's biggest box office grosser is Ek Villain.

The film had everything going in its favour: The love story between Shraddha Kapoor and Sidharth, Riteish Deshmukh's villain avatar, chartbuster music, raw action and good direction by Mohit Suri.

It took a superb opening of Rs 16.70 crore and sailed past the century mark.

Brothers
Box office collection: Rs 85 crore

Brothers saw good camaraderie between Sidharth and Akshay Kumar.

Together, they brought good action on screen, courtesy the MMA appeal.

Yes, there were intermittent aberrations in the film where the narrative turned sluggish but by and large, it was an adrenalin-pumping affair.

The film couldn't cover much distance due to the high costs involved.

Kapoor & Sons
Box office collection: Rs 73.30 crore

A bonafide hit, Kapoor & Sons was a new age film with a very different narrative style by Director Shakun Batra.

Sidharth stood tall in the film, costarring Alia Bhatt, Fawad Khan and Rishi Kapoor.

Chartbuster tracks like Nacho and Chull helped add to the film's success.

Student of the Year
Box office collection: Rs 70 crore

SOTY will always be special for Sidharth, as it's his debut outing.

It's also one of the biggest hits of his career.

Along with Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, he made sure his confident act was noticed by everyone.

Marjaavaan
Box office collection: Rs 47.78 crore

His last release theatre release Marjaavaan came on the back of disappointments like Jabariya Jodi and Baar Baar Dekho.

Director Milap Zaveri made sure that Sidharth was presented as a deadly hero who could kill, and Marjaavaan broke the actor's bad spell.

The film also saw him reunite with his Ek Villain co-star Riteish Deshmukh.

Hasee Toh Phasee
Box office collection: Rs 39 crore

A sweet film in the romcom genre, Hasee Toh Phasee, Sidharth's second release, was a decent success.

With Parineeti Chopra as his leading lady, Sidharth was sweetness personified in this Karan Johar production.

The song Zehnaseeb is still very popular.

Ittefaq
Box office collection: Rs 30.21 crore

A remake of a cult classic with a clever twist in the end, Ittefaq deserved to do much better than what it eventually did.

Sidharth reprised the role played by Rajesh Khanna in the original. The film just about covered the costs.

A Gentleman
Box office collection: Rs 20.70 crore

Had A Gentleman released now, when Directors Raj & DK are a force to reckon with, it would have done even better.

The film deserved to be a hit, but surprisingly, just didn't find audience then.

Shot in a different format, perhaps the film was way ahead of its times.

Currently, it's a hit on the satellite and OTT circuits.

Aiyaary
Box office collection: Rs 18.22 crore

Though the core premise of this film with Sidharth as a rogue officer and Manoj Bajpayee as his superior was quite interesting, the choice of title played truant in this Neeraj Pandey directed film.

Moreover, the last 30 minutes of the film -- with the entry of Naseeruddin Shah -- made the story go haywire.

Sidharth did well, but the film could not connect with the audience.
