Yesteryear star Shammi Kapoor has been admitted to the intensive care unit of Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital for treatment of lung congestion. The actor, who was suffering from bronchitis, had developed serious lung congestion during the past few days, a family source said.

"He is stable right now," the source added.

Brother of legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor, Shammi -- a very popular star himself -- has acted in several Hindi films and shot into fame with his carefree roles in Junglee, Brahmachari, Teesri Manzil and Kashmir Ki Kali. His last release was Waah! Tera Kya Kehna, starring Govinda and Raveena Tandon.
