Sen will star in Kalpana Lajmi's new film, The Prostitute And The Postman. Karan Nath will play the male lead.
Sen was not the first choice for the film. It was also offered to Bipasha Basu and Preity Zinta.
Kalpana Lajmi (Darmiyaan, Daman) claims the short film (lasting 135 minutes), is based on a true story and is singer-music director Bhupen Hazarika's concept. According to Mid-Day, Hazarika claimed to have witnessed a relationship between a postman and a prostitute on the Bhutan-Assam border.
The budget for the film is Rs 2.5 crore (approximately US $572,000) and will be shot in and around Dehra Dun in a single schedule of 45 days. The shooting starts in January 2005.
