Producer-director Sanjay Gupta was admitted to Mumbai's Leelavati hospital on December 27 in a serious condition. Gupta met with a road accident near Lonavala, a two-hour drive from Mumbai, in the afternoon.
According to sources, Gupta's car went out of control and hit a pole. He has sustained rib cage fracture and his left hand has been seriously injured.
The director's latest film, Kaante starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Mahesh Manjrekar, Kumar Gaurav and Lucky Ali, was released on December 20.
