Salman Khan is all set to turn scriptwriter for the sequel to his 2013 blockbuster Kick.

The actor, who came up with the story idea for the film titled Devil, will be writing the story and screenplay.

Sources close to Kick producer-director Sajid Nadiadwala reveal, “Sajid had no idea when he’d make Devil. He had decided to not even think about the sequel until he found a kickass subject."

It was a casual conversation between Salman and Sajid when the actor got an idea that Sajid instantly liked.

“It was just a one-liner that Salman threw at Sajid. That was it. Sajid didn't just like it, he asked Salman to write the screenplay too,” the source adds.

It would be interesting to note that this isn't the first time that Salman will be involved in the scripting process of one of his films.

He had previously written the story for Chandramukhi, co-starring Sridevi, in which he played the lead and also produced.

Devil is expected to go on the floors at the end of 2016.

Salman's Kick costars Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui won't be a part of the sequel.
