Her third film will be Mr Chaalu, which she describes as a 'cheerful, sunny, though not always funny' film.
Saif Ali Khan will play the title role.
Reema reveals that Saif plays a pathological liar, who cannot stop telling lies.
"Mr Chaalu is a love story between a pathological liar and a woman who has OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) about telling the truth," she says.
The female lead will be played by Kangna Ranaut.
Reema insists that Mr Chaalu is not a comedy. “It is a humorous film about human flaws," she says. "Though in a way I am returning to my lighter directorial beginnings, Mr Chaalu has dramatic layers.”
"Saif is ideal for the character. Zoya Akhtar and I often discussed him for the character while we were writing the script," she adds.
The film also stars Richa Chadha and Pooja Bhatt. The casting is still on for other significant parts.
So is she looking forward to a more relaxed shoot after the tense Talaash?
"Not at all," Reema answers. "As far as I know, filmmaking is a never a relaxing activity. We start shooting early next year."
