It was just a few days before he passed away following a fatal heart attack that Bengali filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh tweeted about finishing his new film Satyanveshi.
Now in its post-production stage, the film is surrounded by speculations about who will see it to the finish line.
But contrary to reports that Sujoy Ghosh -- who makes his acting debut as super sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi with the film -- will look after all the post-production work,
the reins have actually fallen into the hands of Rituparno's longtime cinematographer Aveek Mukhopadhyay.
“We are basically looking at the post-production work and my main concern is my dubbing. I don’t know how I’ll do it without Ritu's guidance but Aveek understood Ritu’s vision far better than me. He has been Ritu’s DOP (Director Of Photography) in 7-8 of his most recent film including
Chokher Bali and Ritu’s previous film
Chitrangda,” Sujoy clarifies.
"The important thing is to make sure Ritu’s name and reputation are not compromised in any way,” the
Kahaani director adds.
