Aditya Chopra, who recently announced his directorial comeback Befikre, has signed Ranveer Singh to play the male lead in his film.
Befikre will be Chopra's first film to not have Shah Rukh Khan as the male lead.
Before him, his father, the late director-producer Yash Chopra, made all his films with SRK in the lead ever since they teamed up on the 1993 thriller Darr.
The 44-year-old director has so far directed three films, the record-breaking Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995), followed by Mohabbatein (2000) and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008).
While we are nothing but excited to see the talented Ranveer star in an Adi film, we couldn't help but wonder, has there been a fallout between Chopra and SRK?
An actor very close to the Yashraj family says, “There is no rift between Shah Rukh and Aditya, so don’t even go there.
“This role just required a younger actor. I think Adi spoke to Shah Rukh before signing Ranveer. I believe Shah Rukh will make a guest appearance in Befikre.”
