Ram Gopal Varma to go SILENT
April 22, 2015 15:10 IST

'Silence,' says RGV, 'is as effective as sound in film.'

Strange, but true! Ram Gopal Varma, the most vocal filmmaker we have, has decided to go shhhhhh!

Alas! not in real life.

RGV plans to revive his drooping career by making a silent movie.

Nearly 30 years ago, Kamal Haasan delivered an outstanding performance in the 1986 Tamil silent film Pushpaka Vimanam.

"Silence," says RGV, " is as effective as sound in film," adding, "I was working on the concept of a silent film for long and finally cracked a crime-comedy script."

Just in case audiences don't get the message, Ramu has helpfully titled his movie SILENT.

"It will star actors from all languages and will release in all languages since there's no language to it!" chuckles the director, clearly pleased with himself.

Harshvardhan in Bengal Tiger

After Avunu 2's success, Harshavardhan Rane will make a special appearance in the Ravi Teja-Rashi Khanna starrer Bengal Tiger.

"I play Rashi's love interest," he says. "It's by far the most stylish role I have played in Telugu films."

"It's going to be a very entertaining love triangle between Ravi, Rashi and me," he adds.

"Rashi is a very lovely girl," Harshvardhan says. "On the first day of the shoot, Rashi and I were discussing how our first Hindi films were with John Abraham -- hers was Madras Cafe and mine was Satrah Ko Shaadi Hai (which is yet to release)."

The untitled film, directed by V V Vinayak, will feature Akhil's elder bro Naga Chaitanya in a cameo role.

The promo, released on April 8 (Akhil's birthday), has been well received.

The film's first schedule is complete; cast and crew fly to Spain in May for the next schedule.
