Tamil superstar Rajinikanth returned to Chennai last night after undergoing kidney treatment in Singapore for six weeks.

Sources close to the family stated that Rajinikanth was missing his fans and family and therefore he did not wish to be away from them for very long.

The superstar was greeted by fans with flowers and garlands as soon as he arrived in Chennai.

Rajinikant had left for Singapore on May 27
on his doctors' advice. He'd complained of fever and respiratory problems. It started in the last week of April when he was shooting for Rana and suddenly started vomiting.

He was rushed to the hospital and was discharged the same day but his health deteriorated and he was back in the hospital on May 13. He was flown to Singapore for further treatment once he'd partially recovered.

Rajinikanth recently sent a note to his fans expressing gratitude for their love and said that he'd resume shooting for Rana very soon.
