The actor has been seen in quite a few TV shows earlier, including a small part in Mahabharat, as King Bharat.
He feels lucky to be a part of the entertainment industry for over three decades.
“As an actor, I have got an opportunity to work in different mediums," Raj Babbar says. "I started with theatre, then did television and later, I joined cinema.
"I am not done yet. I still feel I have not worked enough. I still want to work more,” he added.
Pukaar is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who had earlier made long running soaps like Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka.
The actor says: "I have started watching television shows now; I used to watch only news before. I found Satyameva Jayate interesting and also some shows on Sony Entertainment Television.”
Raj Babbar has watched a few episodes of Bigg Boss 8 as well, which features his son Aarya.
“Just two days before he entered the house, I got to know that he will be on a reality show. He is being honest and genuine on the show, which is what I have advised him to be. Now I hardly get time to watch Bigg Boss due to my shooting schedule but I get the story updates from my family when I go back home," he adds with a smile.
Does he think Bigg Boss will help Aarya get work in Bollywood?
"There is visibility if you do television but that doesn't make a difference to films. Your work and hard work can get you films," he replies.
Raj Babbar says he discusses work with son Prateik as well. "He has come back from Australia. Recently he told me about a Bengali film that he is doing. He is passionate about his acting career."
When asked if he has any plans of producing a film with his sons, he says yes. "I am working out something. I will talk about it when I have something concrete," he adds.
Will politics take a backseat now that he is acting in a TV show? “Politics was never a profession for me. It will always remain a social commitment, something I do for the betterment of the film industry.” he replies.
